After a long period of frustration and heartbreak, Bethesda has finally announced official release dates for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim DLC for the Playstation 3. As most of you know, both the game itself and its add-ons have been a complete nightmare for PS3 players. Between severe game lag and no sign of DLC some players have stated they don’t even want to play games from Bethesda anymore. But, as of today, there are official DLC dates.
Here is what was posted on the official Elder Scrolls fan page earlier today:
North American PS3 release dates (we’re still waiting on European release dates)
Dragonborn releases Tuesday, February, 12
Hearthfire releases Tuesday, February, 19
Dawnguard releases Tuesday, February, 26
So, yes, American PS3 owners can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Over the next few weeks each of the Skyrim DLC packs will be available for download. One can only assume that these will be available for heavily discounted prices due to the insanely long wait time. Unfortunately, though, European Playstation 3 gamers will still have to wait. There are no official dates for DLC for EU.
Hopefully we won’t see delays like this again from Bethesda. Especially with next-generation consoles being just around the corner. The Elder Scrolls series is truly an amazing role-playing game series. We hope that Playstation console owners will not have to face these trials and tribulations again with future titles from Bethesda Softworks.
