As the development team bids the incredibly successful fifth installment of the Elder Scrolls series goodbye, Bethesda pipes up and announces that Skyrim Legendary Edition will be releasing for the PC, Xbox 360, and Playstation 3 on June 4th. The package will contain a redesigned cover, the complete Skyrim game (with the latest update), and the 3 DLC packs that came out for the game: Dawnguard, Dragonborn, and Hearthfire.
The June 4th release date is for the US only. European countries will get access to the legendary set on June 7th. Bethesda also went on to say that the entire thing will be available for $59.99.
On a side note, one gamer asked if any new updates will be added beyond the 1.9 patch. A Bethesda staff member replied saying: “There’s no announced plans for any new updates. As posted in a blog post last week, BGS have moved to their next project and will only do minor updates as necessary.”
It’s a little disappointing to see that the legendary edition will include nothing more than the game and its add-ons. Rumors of this new edition of the game have been circling the web for a few weeks now and some people expected a little more. A few gamers were hoping for a physical piece of memorabilia while others had high hopes for a surprise addition DLC (despite the fact that it was confirmed that Skyrim would be receiving no further add-ons).
